We love our pets, don't we? What better way to memorialize our precious furballs than to have their photo engraved in a 3D crystal? Here are a few tips to help you select the best possible picture of your pet.
- Make sure your pet is looking into the camera. If they’re looking off to the side, we won’t be able to engrave the part of their face that isn’t visible. That means you’re going to end up with a blank space in your 3D Crystal instead! While most gaps in your engraving won’t be visible when looking straight ahead at your crystal, it’s still best to avoid them as much as possible.
- When it comes to pet photos, there are some areas where you won’t be able to avoid a blank space in your 3D engraving. Because many pets (dogs especially) tend to have long noses, the area under their chin is often obscured.
- It’s always best to showcase your pet’s face in your engraving. This allows us to create a more detailed 3D image and minimize empty space in your crystal. It can also help us to avoid unwanted gaps in your engraving. Pet's bodies can be difficult to work with when it comes to building a 3D model. Take the third photo below, for example. Because of this dog’s long body, we can’t see the area between his front and back legs. If the image were engraved in 3D, this area would become empty space.
