The most beautiful photos in the world are the ones of our family and friends! Here are some great photo tips to make sure your 3D engraving does justice to the people you love.
- It’s always best to start with a high-resolution photo that has plenty of bright, natural lighting.
- Make sure the people in your photo are facing the camera. If someone is looking off to the side, we won’t be able to engrave the part of their face that isn’t visible. That means you’re going to end up with a blank space in your 3D Crystal instead!
Good Forward Facing Image:
Not Ideal Side View. - As a general rule, make sure that anything you want to see in your crystal is visible in your photo. Our 3D Models are 180°, which means that we only engrave what appears in your image. While we do add depth to your engraving, we do not generate additional content to display the way that the sides and back of your photo would look.
- It’s usually best to choose a close-up image of your subject’s face or a half-body shot (from the waist up) rather than a full-body image. In order to fit a full-body shot inside one of our crystals, we’d have to make the engraving fairly small. This means we’re not able to provide as much detail, and it leaves more empty space around the image.
- In group photos, the subjects should all be standing close to one another. If there’s too much room between faces/figures, you’ll end up with a lot of empty space in your crystal. We also won’t be able to zoom in on the image as much, which means we can’t provide as much detail.
- If there’s more than one person in your photo, everyone should be the same distance from the camera. Even if there’s not a lot of empty space in the picture, having a close-up of one person while someone else is in the far background can look confusing inside your 3D engraving.
